Leo Marcus Meyer Jr., age 88 of Athens, GA passed away on May 28, 2024. Marcus, known as Marc to family and friends, was the son of the late Leo Marcus Meyer Sr. and Anne Freeman Meyer. Along with his parents, Marc is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Gail Barry Meyer, his sister Julie Meyer Fielding and brother-in-law Ned C. Fielding.
Survivors include his three children: Kelli Meyer Waters, Rand Marcus Meyer (Debbie), and Brian Kevin Meyer (Jennifer); six grandchildren: Chanley Waters (Ady), Chane Waters (Savannah), Caitlin Waters, Elizabeth Meyer, Jacob Meyer, and Joshua Meyer; one great grandchild: Steele Waters; and one nephew: Christopher Fielding.
Marc was a member of The Catholic Center at UGA. He graduated from Oglethorpe County High School and the University of Georgia and was a lifelong Bulldog fan. He was retired from ITT Grinnell in Statesboro, GA.
A memorial service will be held at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home on Saturday June 1, 2024 at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior from 2-3 PM.
