Lindquist Mortuary - LaytonMarc Don Stocks, 68, of Layton, Utah, passed away on September 21, 2025, from lung cancer. Born December 1, 1956, he was preceded in death by his children Nicholas Don Stocks, Monique Marie Stocks, and Joshua Marc Stocks, as well as his parents, Boyd Don Stocks and Lou Jean Child Stocks. He is survived by his siblings Randy & Judy Stocks, James Stocks, Vickie & Ray Rhees, Linda & Fred Stettler, and Mary & Bruce Brierley. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Marc was a great brother, uncle, and friend; he was always there to lend a helping hand and a listening ear.
Professionally, Marc achieved great success in the automotive industry. He was a top salesman at Larry H. Miller and other dealerships where he worked, earning the trust and admiration of countless customers. He had a natural rapport with people, and his integrity and charisma made him a true standout in his field.
Marc’s recovery journey was a powerful testament to his strength and spirit. With the support of his beloved sponsor, Rial Storey, he found healing and purpose, offering hope and support to others who were walking a similar path. His time at Valley Camp was transformative—not just for himself, but for those he mentored, laughed with, and loved there.
Marc’s faithful companion, his doodle Rilee, was always by his side. His love for dogs, his tender heart, and gentle soul made him a calming and encouraging presence in many lives.
He was a man of many talents—hunting and fishing, hiking, enjoying the outdoors, he had a green thumb, was a great chef, a sports fan (especially of the Jazz and Rams), and above all, a source of light for everyone around him.
He endured much in this life—grief, addiction, illness—but never lost his will to love or his ability to make others smile. His final years were marked by bravery, sobriety, grace, and generosity. He truly lived with purpose.
A Celebration of Marc’s life will be on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Marc’s sister's home from 3:00 to 5:00, 492 W 1300 N, Farmington, Utah.
