Marc Turley 28, of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Sacramento passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024 in Lexington. Marc Thomas Turley was born December 12, 1995 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Steven Lynn and Amanda Louise Johnson Turley. Marc was a vibrant and warm-hearted individual, who was a beacon of joy and intelligence to all who knew him.
Marc's early life in Western Kentucky community of Bremen laid the foundation for an individual who was as passionate about his roots as he was about the world's history. His parents, Steve and Amanda, instilled in him the values of family and community that he carried throughout his life.
Marc's academic journey was marked by dedication and a thirst for knowledge. He graduated from McLean County High School in 2014, a proud moment for his family and friends. Marc's love of history and social studies propelled him to further his education at Western Kentucky University, from which he graduated in 2018. His passion for the past was not just academic; it was a living, breathing part of who he was.
Professionally, Marc found his niche as a quality control technician for SRC of Lexington, where he applied his sharp eye for detail and his commitment to excellence. His colleagues knew him as a reliable presence, always ready to lend a hand.
Marc's personal interests were diverse and deeply rooted in his love for engagement and community. He was an avid Xbox gamer, sharing many a late-night gaming session with his friends. His passion for entertainment extended to movies and TV shows, which he enjoyed both for their storytelling and for the historical contexts they often explored. History was not just Marc's major; it was a lens through which he viewed the world, finding connections and lessons in the unfolding tapestry of time.
Marc was raised in the Pentecostal church and always sought to understand the world through the many faiths and values collectively developed by humanity over time. He held fast to the ideas of compassion and respect for all peoples. His friends knew they could always count on him for support, laughter, and good company. Marc was also an avid gun collector, an interest that showcased his respect for history and craftsmanship. Marc loved the company and caring for his cat, "Edgar."
Marc's legacy is one of curiosity, friendship, and a profound appreciation for the stories that bind us together. Marc Thomas Turley lived a life marked by the pursuit of understanding, the warmth of companionship, and the enduring bonds of family. The memories he created and the love he shared will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him.
Marc was preceded in death by a grandmother, Shirley Turley and by an uncle, Randy Turley.
Marc is survived by his parents, Steve and Amanda Turley of Bremen; a brother, Ben Turley (Julia Petrusan) of Barboursville, West Virginia; his grandparents, Garry Turley (Linda Edwards) of Sacramento; and Thomas and Lois Jean Johnson of Island; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Marc was the sweetest kid. He had a beatiful soul and a contagious smile. We had many conversations when he'd come to visit Chase. He will be greatly missed by all.
