Eura Lee Bishop 86, of Island, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at the Heartford House in Owensboro after a very short battle with cancer. Eura Lee Bishop was born April 2, 1939 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to the late Roy and Ruby Swift Bishop.

Eura lived a full and generous life devoted to her family and community. She worked for many years at General Electric Aircraft in Madisonville, and after retirement, continued caring for others by sitting with the elderly and lovingly babysitting her great grandsons, Luke and Jack.

Eura was a member of the Baptist faith and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a talented cook that opened and worked in several restaurants throughout her life, sharing her warmth and skill with everyone she served. Eura also devoted many years of volunteering at God's House of Hope.

Eura found her greatest joy in being with her family. She was an exceptional cook, always wanting to cook for people, was an avid gardener, that grew the prettiest flowers, and vegetables, and was a skilled quilter. Eura always said that keeping busy, kept her young. Her homemade pies and cakes were highly sought after by family and friends, and no gathering was complete without one of her sweet creations. Eura's home was a place of comfort, filled with the smell of good food and the sound of laughter.

Eura was known for her loving, compassionate spirit, her feisty humor, and her deep wisdom. She was kind, spunky, and fiercely devoted to those she loved. Eura also had a stylish flair – always making sure her hair was done just right and taking pride in looking her best, no matter the occasion.

In addition to her parents, Eura was preceded in death by a grandson, Everett Lew Van Lindsey; three brothers, Charles Bishop, Robert 'Bobby' Bishop, Allen Ray Bishop; and two sisters, Dalsie Bishop Sartain and Patsy Bishop Johnson.

Eura will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Sherry Lindsey (Chalmer) of Owensboro and Ava Heath (Mark) of Bremen; two granddaughters, Tifany Hagedorn (Jared) of Owensboro and Tara Hatfield (David) of Calhoun; four great-grandchildren, Tyler Free (Kaylee), Meredith Free, Luke Hagedorn, and Jack Hagedorn; a great-great-granddaughter, Lila Free; two brothers, Roy Bishop, Jr. and Terry Bishop (Betty) both of Moorman; and two sisters, Sarah Slinker of Bremen and Mary Lovett of Monticello.

Eura was so very loved and will be missed by so many.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery in Muhlenberg County. Friends may visit with Eura's family from 10:30 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Musters in Livermore.

The Eura Lee Bishop family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to The Heartford House; C/O Hospice of Western Kentucky; 3419 Wathens Crossing; Owensboro, Kentucky 42301.

Eura's services will be streamed live on musterfuneralhomes.com at 2:00 P.M. Saturday.
