Marcel passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
Marcel J. Sudbeck was born September 12, 1963, in Yankton, South Dakota to Norman Gerald and Delores Erna (Kathol) Sudbeck. He attended school in Hartington, graduating from Cedar Catholic High School in 1981. Marcel attended Northeast Community College.
On June 7, 1986, Marcel married Debra K. Meirose at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington. The couple was blessed with four children, Zachary, Lukas, Taylor, and Haley.
Marcel worked at Courtesy Ford for 17 years before starting his own company, Sudbeck Underground, where he had the pleasure of working with all of his sons. He was proud of the business he created and loved his work. He would often start his morning with coffee at the Fast Mart, shooting the breeze with the regulars.
Marcel played baseball and softball and coached all of his children in youth sports over the years. He enjoyed travelling, going on cruises with Deb, casino runs, and joint couples' trips with Diane and Daryl Sudbeck. Above all, family was of utmost importance to Marcel, and he cherished the time he spent with Deb, his children, and grandchildren.
Marcel was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his mother, Delores; wife, Debra; children, Zachary (Elizabeth) Sudbeck of Norfolk, Luke (Tara) Sudbeck of Ogallala, Taylor Sudbeck of Norfolk, and Haley Sudbeck of Omaha; grandchildren, Harper, Wesley, and Olivia; Austynn, Ramsey, Graham, and Nolan; and Mia Rose and Jude; siblings, Rick (Tricia) Sudbeck of Loveland, CO, Gerald Sudbeck of Hartington, Kathy (Joe) Lammers of Hartington, Keith G. (Charlene) Sudbeck of Wynot, Sidney (Terri) Sudbeck of Hadar, Karen (Mick) Boeckman of Wynot, Annette (Cecil) Williams of Crescent, OK, and Nancy (Todd) Becker of Yankton, SD; mother-in-law, Rita Meirose; in-laws, Cheri Felber, Pamela Newberry, Chuck (Julie) Meirose, Roland (Deb) Meirose, Karen (Richard) Newton, and Diane (Daryl) Sudbeck; godmother, Jolene Sudbeck; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marcel was preceded in death by his father, Norman; father-in-law, Gerald Meirose; grandson, Huckston; granddaughter, Naomi; nephew, John Lammers; and great-nephew, Spencer Lammers.
Memorials are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House Charities or the Norfolk High or Junior Wrestling Programs or the Sacred Heart Parish.

You have our sympathy at the loss of Marcel, who was a hard worker, caring man, and so much to live for. Our hearts and prayers to his family and extended family. May he rest in Gods loving arms and keeps a watch over his family to let them know he will still be with them in memories and "little miracles" around them. So keep your eyes and ears in tune with your loving one looking down upon you! May he rest in peace, and God be with those in mourning.
