Marcelino was truly the life of the party, always bringing joy and laughter with his quick wit and sense of humor. He was a kind, selfless soul who never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need. A devoted baseball enthusiast, Marcelino proudly cheered for his beloved Chicago Cubs. He successfully owned and operated a taxi cab company for many years before retiring and returning to his roots in Puerto Rico.
Marcelino is survived by his sons Marcelino Montanez Jr., Bernardo Montanez III and daughter in law Zulma Tatiana Cristancho. his daughters Awilda Coy and Sylvia Montanez. Marcelino's grand children include Steven Escobar, Kelsey Montanez, Nathaniel Santiago, Bernardo Montanez IV, & Frederick Hernandez Jr, and great grand child Aviana Escobar. He is survived by his Siblings Awilda Montanez, Maria Cartagena, Johnny Montanez and Ruben Montanez.
He was preceded in Death by his Parents Bernardo Montanez Sr. and Eliza Franco and by his wife Norma Montanez-Gonzalez. His Siblings Raul Montanez and Bernardo Montanez II.
A funeral service will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home at 36327 Pure water way Zephyrhills Florida 33641 on August 22nd 2025 at 11:00 am. Visitation will take place prior to service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Marcelino, please visit our Tree Store.
