Marcella Baker Obituary

In 1946 Marcella married Elton Baker, the love of her life for 62 years.
Marcella valued hard work and individual betterment. She set an example by aiding Elton with farm work, taking classes to earn accreditation as a nurses' aid and an activity director for the elderly. In her work at the Pocahontas Manor, Marcella treated the residents of the nursing home as she wished to be treated - with kindness and patience. She encouraged her children to follow her example by working hard and pursuing education beyond high school.
Marcella was predeceased by her husband Elton, her parents, all of her siblings, her son-in-law John Moragues and her granddaughter Jeanine Oberholzer. Marcella is survived by her children Dena Moragues, Vonita Brown (Sam), Galen Baker (Norma), Renae Lenhardt (Peter), grandchildren (13), great-grandchildren (26) and great-great grandchildren (8).
Marcella is remembered with much love, laughter and smiles.
Visitation is at 9:30 am on June 19, 2023 at Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pocahontas, Iowa. The funeral and graveside service follows at 10:30 am. Please join her family at a luncheon to celebrate her life in Holy Name Hall (the church basement) immediately after the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the American Liver Foundation in memory of Marcella Baker.
