On February 1, 2023, Miss. Marcella Renee Johnson completed her earthly journey at (Riverside Regional Medical Center) and transitioned into eternal peace with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Marcella was born July 28, 1966, to the late Mr. Joseph Larry Johnson and Mrs. Corrine Elizabeth Johnson in Newport News, VA. She was educated in the Newport News Public Schoolssystem. She eventually became an employee with NNPS for several years until her health prevented her from doing so. Her passion was cooking and doing hair. No matter what was going on she would keep you laughing.
She was a faithful member of Ivy Baptist Church since 2004. Under the leadership of Emeritus Rev. W. Henry Maxwell until 2006 when Rev. Dr. Kevin Swann became pastor. Where she continued to serve. Marcella was in several ministries; culinary, adult & mass choir, and Yadah mime ministry.
Marcella was alsoan anointed and dedicated member along with Edith Wallace(sister in Christ) of "Have Your Way Mime & Praise Ministers". Where they participated in several outreach ministries; formerly known as Layers of Beauty Inc. currently known as Behind My Reflection LLC, WTJZ Praise 104.9 with Willie Brown and Toys for Tots, Great New Hope Pentecostal Apostolic Church Inc. Hour of Power, and Seven-City Praise. Marcella also was a mentor to Inspired by God Mime.
She graduated from The Eagles Network in 2017 as a TEN Mime. Marcella was extremely dedicated to her ministries that brought God's people into the Kingdom.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Anthony L Johnson (Tony), and Joseph Theodore Jones (Joe), and her loving son Darell Lorenzo Johnson.
Left to cherish her memories are sisters, Kim Farrar (William), and Michele Johnson (Twin),bonus sister Natashia Boyd-Brown(Leon), children (daughter) Trevonda Johnson, (son) Tracy Johnson, two grandchildren Treshanti and Terrance Spencer (Jr), three nieces, Jasmine Wright, Shara Johnson, Ashleigh Johnson, two nephews La'monjelloLong, Demetri Johnson, two aunts Bernice Hicks, Patricia Perry (Willie), and a host of other relatives and friends.
It is the desire of the Johnson family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

I´m not sure where to start. I´m still scratching my head on this one, but God you are sovereign and you never make a mistake. Marcella was one of my best volunteers. The hundreds of thousands of children we made Christmas a happier one was because of your unselfish love for people. I can´t even remember a time you ever said no to me.
