Marcella "Marcie" Prueter AuGres, Michigan Formerly of Saginaw
Marcella "Marcie" Prueter, age 92, passed away peacefully Friday, December 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved daughter of the late Rolland and Blanche (Kuczynski) Ferguson and was born on April 5, 1933, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. On June 14, 1952, Marcella married the love of her life, Donald Prueter, who preceded her in death. Together they built a life centered on faith, service, and family. Marcella devoted her life to serving others, especially her community and family. She proudly worked as Deputy Clerk in Sims Township and was a devoted member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Au Gres, where she faithfully served on the Altar Society. Whatever Marcella committed herself to, she did so with her whole heart and great pride. In her free time, she found joy in gardening and was a member of the Garden Club and a Lioness. She especially cherished time spent with family at the cottage and quiet moments sitting on the porch, watching the lake roll in. Marcella's faith could move mountains. She instilled in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren the importance of faith, love, and family. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, service, and unconditional love that will be carried on for generations.
Surviving to cherish her memory are one son and two daughters, Daniel (Heather Stefan) Prueter, Debra (Rick) Wesmer, and Mary Beth (James) Gerhardt; five grandchildren, Scott Wesmer, Rebecca (Steven) Paling, Matthew (Tara) Gerhardt, Jennifer (David) Mathis, and Alexandra (Michael Ford) Prueter; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Marcella was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Prueter.
A Memorial Service will take place 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 415 South Court Street, Au Gres, Michigan. Father Jerry Balwinski will officiate. Friends may visit at the church, where the family will be present on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
