I was saddened to hear of Marcene's untimely passing. And it was no surprise at all to read of her many many wonderful gifts to students and colleagues. I was fortunate enough to be in a graduate class at Georgia State University with Marcene, and found her to be absolutely fabulous!! Smart, quick, wise, funny and practical. What a joy to then work with her at Capital View Elementary when the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation presented $1000's of band instruments to her students. Marcene was 100% focused on her students & staff, and included me in her generous and powerful support. May God bless her family and friends.
