Walhalla- Marcia Risser Bolo, 92, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend left her earthly home September 5th, 2025 to join her loved ones in Heaven with Jesus. She leaves her three daughters, Deborah Anderson, Bonnie-Rae Chait and Andrea King Barber as well as ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren behind.
Proceeding her in death were her husband, of 68 years Raymond John Bolo and her eldest daughter, Marcia Alyce Bolo.
Marcia grew up in Iona, Michigan and she attended Alma College. She was in the Queen's court, won many speech contests, member of Kiltie Band, acapella choir and Kappa lota Sorority. She represented Michigan's Lyons club at Atlantic City. She was also elected president of Tau Kappa Alpha. She was a very successful and popular teacher in Michigan as well as Ohio. Marcia worked at Western Golf and County Club beside her beloved husband and best friend of twenty-five years as a purchaser of Women's clothing as well as at Pro Golf. Marcia had a vivacious personality and a fashion flair second to none.
Marcia and Ray moved to Florida where she was very active in the Methodist Church, PEO, and president of Palm Beach Gardens Women's Club. She also taught speech to Jr. High School student in West Palm Beach. Marcia traveled the world with Ray as he played in golf tournaments.
In South Carolina she became a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, where she was an active member of her SOS Sunday School Class. She loved the Lord, Ray and her family and always made an effort to reach out to anyone in need. Marcia was a great entertainer and hostess and always welcomed visitors into her home as well as a fierce prayer warrior willing to pray with or for anyone anytime.
At her request no formal service will be held at this time.
