Marcia Brackbill Obituary
Marcia Kay Ehrlich Brackbill, born on June 10, 1938, in Oakley, Kansas, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 86.
Marcia was a dedicated wife, mother, who cherished her family dearly. Her late husband David, was the love of her life, and together they were blessed with their beloved children, David and Susan (Robert Wagner), both of whom have also departed this life. Her family and friends were constantly in her thoughts and heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Professionally, Marcia was a devoted Registered Nurse. She held a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Science and serve the Wilmington community with compassion and dedication for over 30 years following decades of nursing service in Massachusetts. Marcia's passion for helping others was evident in her active involvement with charitable organizations such as the New Hanover County Library Board, the American Cancer Society, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
A woman of many interests, Marcia found joy in the arts and nature. She loved traveling to distant lands, enjoying the many wonders of the places she visited. Her many talents included piano. She delighted in dancing and attending operas. The ocean was a place of serenity for her, where she found peace and inspiration.
Marcia's legacy of love, service, and joy will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Although her presence will be deeply missed, those who love her take comfort in knowing that she is now at home with her Savior and Lord.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in honor of Mrs. Brackbill at Champions Assisted Living in Wilmington.
