Beverly S. (Breckenridge) Brackbill, 93, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Transitions Healthcare Shook Home in Chambersburg, PA. She was born on May 26, 1932, in East Waterford, PA, to the late William and Fay (Alexander) Breckenridge.
Beverly grew up in Path Valley and graduated from the former Fannett Township High School in Dry Run, PA, class of 1950. After graduation, she worked at the Chambersburg United Telephone Co. as an operator, then entered nursing school at Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg where she spent 2 years. She and her husband of 46 years, the late Dwight “Buss” Brackbill were married in Winchester, VA on July 21, 1953. Mr. Brackbill passed away on July 7, 1999. After her husband’s passing, she enjoyed many winters in Florida and worked one season at Walt Disney World. Beverly was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chambersburg, PA and an active member of Cedarettes Ladies Auxiliary Group.
Surviving her are three daughters, Brenda Slusher (Vincent “Ben”), Beth Dunn (Mark), and Becky Brackbill (Robyn Stoops). Six grandchildren, Amanda and Ben Slusher, Tom and Alexandra Dunn, and Caleb and Zachary Little. Eight great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Brackbill, two brothers Roland and Jim Breckenridge, and friend and companion, Charles A. Manning.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. Interment will follow the service in Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Paul United Methodist Church 750 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
