Wayne A. Brackbill, 77, husband of 41 years to Joanne M. (Carlin) Brackbill of Milton, DE and formerly of East Coventry, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 in Bryn Mawr Hospital.
Born on July 1, 1947 in Pottstown, PA he was the son of the late Harvey and Margaret (Taylor) Brackbill.
Wayne was a 1966 graduate and member of the first full graduating class of the newly formed Great Valley High School.
He was in charge of facilities and maintenance at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church and School for 19 years, affectionally known as "Mr. Wayne" by students, faculty, and parents. Prior to his time at St. Basil, he worked at Phoenix Lanes and was owner of R&W Car Clean in Spring City.
Wayne was a Volunteer Firefighter for East Whiteland Fire Company in his teen years. He was an avid bowler for over four decades and was inducted into the Pottstown Bowling Association Hall of Fame, and a Life Member of Liberty Steam Fire Company in Spring City.
Wayne was also a big Philadelphia sports fan, supporting all local major sports teams, and witnessed all four win multiple championships.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Tracey & husband Michael Minniti; Sons Jonathan & Tyler; Grandchildren Madison, Melina, Giana, & Dominic; Great-grandson, Hudson. He is also survived by Sisters, Lois, wife of Rich DiRocco and Laura, wife of Frank Byerly. He is preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Steinmetz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 2340 Kimberton Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460 on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 10:30 am.
Burial will follow in Philadelphia Memorial Park, located in Frazer, PA.
A viewing will be held in church on Saturday from 9:15 to 10:15 am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local animal rescue or volunteer fire company.
