Rita M. Gazzillo, 81 passed on to another life peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Born & raised in Phoenixville, PA she was the loving daughter of the late Thomas & Elizabeth (Bellock) O’Connor. She was the loving wife of the late Pasquale “Pat” V. Gazzillo and proud mother of Lisa Marie (Gazzillo) wife of Patrick J. McGinley, Jr. and Bryan Paul Gazzillo husband of Cathy Gazzillo.
Rita was the cherished Mom-Mom to five grandchildren, Paul Gazzillo, Patrick J. McGinley, III, Marie Gazzillo, Pierce McGinley & Casey McGinley.
She was preceded in death by her brother Thomas & sister Eleanor.
She was the beloved Aunt of many nieces & nephews.
Rita was a graduate of Phoenixville High School. She was an excellent seamstress from a very early age & could design, sew & create anything she saw – clothing to curtains! Rita was employed by The West Company in Phoenixville as an Executive Secretary until she retired. She re-entered the working world soon after since she missed the people & the social interactions of work-life. Her next journey began at Aventis Behring as the Welcoming Receptionist – greeting everyone who visited from all over the world!
Rita was a member of the 49th Street Beach Club in OCNJ. She enjoyed endless days on the beach with the best neighbors on the planet! Afternoon or evening walks with Shelby led her to chats & visits along her way. Whether she was delivering her famous pound cake, pizzelles, or just getting in her steps for the day! OCNJ was her happy place!
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 2340 Kimberton Road, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 11:00am
