Chambersburg, PA-Joanne "Annie" Mathews Dillon, age 91, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and family.

Born and raised on Walnut Street in Cumberland, Maryland, Joanne was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Mathews. She was preceded in death by her brothers John, James, Charles, and Robert Mathews, and her sisters Evelyn Oglebay, Ruth Kelly, and Betty Shaffer.

She graduated from Catholic Girl's Central High School and attended Catherman's Business School. She worked for the Potomac Edison Electric Company before devoting herself full time to raising her family. Joanne was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Parish, and faith played a central role in her life. She attended Mass weekly with her family and often expressed her gratitude and admiration for the Catholic nuns and priests who influenced her life and guided her children.

Joanne shared 67 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Edward Dillon, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Edward and Terry Dillon; Jeffrey and Tami Dillon; Matthew and Kristen Dillon; Robert and Caroline Dillon; Dennis and Leslie Dillon; Brian Dillon; Carla and Patrick Carannante; Carol and Chris Keller; and Patricia and Timothy Hosfelt. She also leaves behind 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandchildren Dennis Dillon, Jr.; Jeffrey Dillon, Jr.; and Alyssia ("eesha") Cage.

Joanne will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and the heart of her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, Church of St. Patrick, 201 N. Centre Street, Cumberland, MD on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 11:00 A.M.

Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
