Gephart Funeral Home - Bay CityMarcia M. McPhee, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, in Sheffield Bay, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 20, 1939, in Jackson, Michigan, Marcia lived a life filled with kindness, warmth, and humor, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her.
For many years, Marcia dedicated herself to her career as a medical assistant, providing compassionate care to her patients. Her gentle nature and great sense of humor made her not only a wonderful colleague but also a trusted confidante to the people she assisted in their times of need.
Outside of her professional life, Marcia had many interests that brought her joy. She loved bike riding, finding peace and freedom in each ride. A passionate reader, she often lost herself in the pages of a good book. Marcia also participated in Arizona Lawn Bowling, a hobby she enjoyed greatly. However, what brought her the most happiness was the time spent with her family, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime.
Marcia is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Gary McPhee. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter and support. She is also survived by her children, Michael (Brenda) Gonyea, Lori (Ronald) McLaurin, Scott (Debbie) McPhee, Brenda (Mario) Ricciardi, and Andrew (Lisa) McPhee. Marcia was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Zachary, Kelly, Deana, Ashley, Jacob, Christian, Nicholas, Brittany, Brandon, and Andrew, as well as six great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Florence (Peterman) Gress, and her son, Dr. Jeffrey McPhee.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kristin and the rest of the staff at American Hospice and to Dori and the rest of the staff at Sheffield Bay for the outstanding care they provided Marcia.
At the request of Marcia, Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Gephart Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to the Alzheimer’s Association.
