She worked as a section chief for the Maricopa County Flood Control District where she played a major role in the Indian Bend and Dreamy Draw Dam projects. Afterward, she owned and operated a signs and graphics store. She was active with her crochet and crafting clubs as well as several church activities. She liked opera and classical music and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her sons, David (Patricia), Clark, and Paul, her grandchildren Robert (Allison) and Margaret, her great-grandson Charlie, her sister Judy Hays, nieces Elinor and Laura, and nephew Stephen.
