Marcia Dawn North, 73, of Bloomington, passed away at her home on August 29, 2025. She was born on April 10, 1952, in Pekin, Illinois, to Ted B. Porter and Julia Arlene (Felton) Porter Summitt. Marcia formerly owned her own cleaning business in Bloomington and attended the House of Prayer in Ellettsville. She loved motorcycles, coloring, arranging flowers, and being outside; she appreciated the hard work that came with taking care of the yard. She is survived by her children, Lisa Burton, Ande Honeycutt, and Jacob (Megan) Moore; siblings, Yvonne "Dee" (Jerry) Bright, Brady Porter, Nora Keller, Ted Porter, Steve Porter, Connie Cloud, Trampis Porter, and Angel Kinder; grandchildren, Trista (Michael) Spires, Heather Mclean, Shelby Honeycutt, Bradi (Daniel) Dwyer, and Andrew (Jenny) Honeycutt; great grandchildren, Kennedy (Alex) Lively, Arianna Mclean, Mason Harris, and Adilynn Washington; great-great grandson, Sawyer "Squishy"; and best friend of nearly 60 years, Jackie Cloud. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Larry Gene Porter and Lynette Valene Main; and her dogs, Freckles and Chopper. A celebration of life for Marcia will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 11 am until 2 pm in the community room of her apartment building at 4751 N. Lenzy Way, Bloomington, IN 47404.
