Marcia Kay Rottier, age 75 of White Cloud & formerly of Fremont, went to be with her Lord and Savior suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday evening, May 2, 2025. She was born on September 1, 1949, in
Fremont, Michigan to Valmond & Esther (Akershoek) Smith. Marcia had been a cherished RN at Gerber Hospital in Fremont where she worked in OB for 40 years until her retirement, while also farming alongside her husband Andy. She was a member of Inspire Church in Fremont, and prior to that she grew up in and raised her family at First Reformed Church in Fremont. Marcia had been involved in MOPS, and she enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading, and needle crafts, as well as decorating her log cabin for Christmas, participating in the Two-Cylinder Club, traveling with Andy to see the Gaithers sing, and time with her family. On January 9, 1970, she married her high-school sweetheart Andy Rottier, and he survives her along with 4 children, 8 grandchildren, & 2 great-grandchildren: Donna Rottier of San Diego, California and her children Marshall, Zane, & Nyah; Vicki (Andy) Sparks of Fremont and their children Tommy (Calla Miller) & Drew (Chloe Paulsen); Mark (Erin) Rottier of Fremont, their daughter Emily (Isaac Vereeke) and their children Oliver & Gracie; Dan (Angie) Rottier of Fremont and their children Weston & Reece. Marcia is also survived by her father, Valmond Smith of Fremont; sisters & brothers: Darla Moore, Douglas (Linda) Smith, David (Beverly) Smith, Wanda (David) Dickinson, Amy Smith; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Jim Rottier, Dave (Nancy) Rottier, Barb Robinson, Ruth Trzemzalski, Shirley (Tom) Carson, Stan (Colleen) Rottier, D.J. (Lois) Rottier, Judy Correll, Jake (Kathi) Rottier; and by many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Smith on November 18, 2016; brother-in-law, Micheal Moore, great niece Isabelle Worth & great nephew Zachary Willea; father- & mother-in-law, Joe & Helen Rottier; Rottier in-laws: Joyce & Larry McCool, Sonjia Rottier, Dave Trzemzalski, & Chuck Correll; and by her great nephew Braxton Tappin & niece Becky Rottier. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Inspire Church in Fremont with Pastor Matthew Deprez officiating. A Livestream of the service is available through the Inspire Church Youtube Page. Visitation will also be at the church from 6-8 PM on Friday. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
