Marcia Jane Schroff Smith, 82, beloved wife of Gary Fuhs Smith, passed away on November 30, 2025.

Marcia was born in Lexington, KY on March 2, 1943 to Mildred Mahan Ball and Louis J Schroff. Outside of a few early years of marriage in Baltimore, MD., her life was spent in Frankfort, KY. She graduated from Good Shepherd Catholic School in Frankfort and then received her Nursing degree from Spaulding College in Louisville, and went on to work for King's Daughters' Hospital, the office of Dr. Tom Baker, and the Kentucky Legislature Bill Room. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Girl Scouts, and Phi Beta Psi Sorority, and volunteered and worked with the American Cancer Society.

Marcia loved music and singing, playing bridge and "Frustration" card games, tennis, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed living in Frankfort while also spending time in her and Gary's second home in Parish, Florida and three of her other favorite non-home places: Sapphire Valley, NC; Surfside & Garden City, SC; and the farm in Harlan, KY.

Marcia is survived by her husband Gary, with whom she just celebrated their 61st anniversary; children Greg S. Smith and Laura Smith Williamson (Ryan); and grandchildren Hunter Smith, Jake Williamson, and Sophia Williamson. She was preceded in death by her daughter Michelle Lee Smith and her brother James Schroff.

A funeral service will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 6th with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the Frankfort Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Greg Smith, Ryan Williamson, Hunter Smith, Jake Williamson, and Matt Mueller.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marcia's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Society of St. Vincent DePaul.
