Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heintz Funeral Service Inc. - Whitesboro St. Location on Feb. 23, 2026.
Mrs. Marcia F. Witte, 92, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Aspen House at the Charles T. Sitrin Health Care Center in New Hartford, with her loving family by her side.
Marcia was born in Utica on November 16, 1933, the daughter of Ervin and Frances (Toomey) Field, and was a 1951 graduate of Whitesboro High School. In 1957, she was united in marriage to Robert C. Witte. She was employed at the Bank of Utica, later at New York Telephone Company, and also served as a ward clerk at Children's Hospital. For many years, she was the friendly voice and organized hand behind Witte Plumbing and Heating in Utica, serving as secretary for her husband's and son's business - a role she carried out with pride and warmth.
Marcia was a woman of deep faith. She was a longtime parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church in Utica and most recently attended the Church of The Sacred Heart and St. Mary, Our Lady of Czestochowa in New York Mills, where she was an active and joyful member of the choir - something she truly cherished.
She leaves behind her loving children, Diane (David) Pole, Kathleen Witte-Davis, Carolyn J. Ripp, and Thomas C. Witte. She was the proud and devoted grandmother to nine cherished grandchildren, Craig (Lauren) Pole, Jordan (Dara) Davis, Genna (Jason) Kalies, Ryan Davis, Nolan Ripp, Aidan Ripp, Charlotte Ripp, Adam Witte, and Ashley Witte. She was a loving Nana who found great joy in hearing about and seeing all that her grandchildren were doing. Marcia was also blessed with eight adored great-grandchildren, Wesley, Harper, Knox, Addie, Mavric, Gwyneth, Ayla, and Tessa, all of whom lived close by and brought great joy to their beloved Nana, often visiting and lending a helping hand. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Moore; her brother, E. John Field; her sister-in-law, Mary Frances Witte; and Gail (Pole) Perry, who was always a tremendous help to Marcia and her family. She leaves many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Marcia's funeral Mass of Christian burial on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of The Sacred Heart and St. Mary, Our Lady of Czestochowa, 201 Main Street, New York Mills. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of the Mass. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro.
Marcia's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of Aspen House for the exceptional care provided to her, and to Michelle Dischiavo for her genuine love and compassion. A special thank you is also extended to Taylor, Marcia's "daughter" while at work, as well as Carol, Hailey, Pammy, Kaitlin, Jessica, Heidi, Ida, Amy, and Kim - please know you each made a profound difference. The family is especially grateful to Dr. Amy Gorczynski for the wonderful and attentive care she provided throughout the years.
