Marcos Santiago Sanchez

Marcos Santiago Sanchez, 86, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away on February 19, 2026. A man of deep faith, tireless service, and unwavering love for his family, he was truly the "greatest person you'll ever know."

Life and Service

Born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, on April 1, 1939, Marcos moved to Osceola County in 1986. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and later dedicated his professional career to the U.S. Government as an Electrical Engineer.

Beyond his professional life, Marcos was a pillar of his community. For 28 years, he and his beloved wife, Laura, served the Salvation Army, truly living out the mission of "Doing the Most Good." He was also a devoted member of the 1st Christian Church of Kissimmee.

Passions and Family

Marcos was a loving husband to his wife, Laura who preceded him, and a devoted father to his daughter, Laura Valentina Schaefer-Lopez. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a man of character and kindness.

In his free time, Marcos was a fixture at local traditions. He was a passionate fan of the Osceola County Rodeo, having never missed a rodeo since moving to the area in 1986.

Services and Memorial

A service will be held to celebrate a life well-lived from 4-6pm Tuesday February 24, 2026 at Funeraria Borinquen.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Marcos's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to his heart.
