Marcus Donte Black Sr.

Marcus Donte Black Sr., of Harker Heights, TX, escaped the bonds of this life and jumped into the arms of his Lord on the morning of March 27, 2024, Marcus was born on February 9, 1981 to Sandra and Eric Black. Marcus was always interested in computers and sports. He earned a B.S. in Information Technology from ITT Technical Institute. His friends and family knew they could always depend on him to come over and help them work through their computer issues. Marcus was a devoted Los Angeles Lakers fan. Marcus left Fort Wayne in 2016 to live in Texas with his older brother Chris. He would go on to be employed by Samsung before being debilitated by brain cancer. His brother Chris and his wife Preonda unselfishly took Marcus into their home caring for him until the end. They were the epitome of unconditional love to their brother. Marcus was preceded in death by his mother Sandra, his aunt "Duchess," his uncle "Frump" and his grandfather Ernest Cox Sr. He is survived by his brother Chris Black (Pre), his son Marcus Black Jr. (Brooklyn) and his sisters and brother Jennifer Mable (Carlton), Beth Hayes (Jason), Brandon Maroney (Bobbie) and parents Eric Black (Joyce). Additionally, he is survived by aunts Janice and Jane, uncles Danny and Stewart and cousins Angel and Andre. there are many more surviving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Marcus will be forever loved and never forgotten.

Visitation will be on April 13, 2024, at 1pm. The memorial service and Holy Communion will begin at 2pm at Messiah Lutheran Church, 7211 Stellhorn Rd. Fort Wayne, Indiana. Pastor Tim Graham will be presiding.
