Marcus Russell Dykes, age 73, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on October 21, 2025. Marcus was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Ilene Richardson; father, Marcus Dykes; grandparents, Charlie and Lona Mae Richardson; brothers, Ronald Dykes and Joseph Maddox; son, Jason Dykes; daughter, Brittnay Dykes; uncles, Loni Richardson and Raymond Harrold; aunts, Sue Vick, Betty Conner, and Marsha Johnson; and cousin, Charlie Will Yerkes.
Marcus is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Jobetta Dykes; daughter, Lynn Wilson; stepson, John Aaron Solomon; sisters, Denise King, Frances Crowe, and Betty Maddox Tharpe; brothers, Gilbert King, Thomas Michael Soles, and Roy Gene Maddox; granddaughters, Machala Dykes, Leih Dykes, Megan Friday, and Mindy Wilson; great-granddaughter, Isla Friday; aunt, Debby Dolezar; and cousin, Lynn Richardson Syfan.
Marcus worked as a welder by trade and took great pride in his craftsmanship. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and listening to country music. He especially loved spending time with his wife, Jobetta, and sharing laughs with his family and friends. Known for his wonderful sense of humor, Marcus always had a good joke ready to brighten someone's day.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Victory Faith Church, located at 1253 King Edward Ave., Cleveland, TN, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 6:00 p.m., officiated by Gary Farris.
Marcus will be remembered for his kind heart, joyful spirit, and the love he shared with everyone around him.
