MR. MARCUS ANTONIO GARNETT, age 53, of 2940 Bridgeport Drive, Augusta, GA passed away on Monday, April 7th, 2025, at the Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA. THOMSON FUNERAL SYSTEM, Thomson, GA oversees all arrangements.

Marcus began his journey on March 5, 1972, in Augusta, GA. Born to Mary Garnett and James McCladdie, he accepted the Lord at an early age and was baptized at the Spring Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Appling, GA under the leadership of Rev. Sylvester D. Bing.
As a child and young man, Marcus received his education by attending the public school system of Columbia County, GA. He attended elementary school in Evans, GA and high school in Martinez, GA at Lakeside High School. He was gainfully employed with the Pollard Lumber Company of Appling, GA for over 32 dedicated years.
Our dearly beloved Marcus ended his journey on Monday, April 7, 2025. He is preceded in death by a sister, Regina Garnett; four uncles, Coy McCladdie, George Garnett, Warren Garnett and Franklin McClattie; his loving grandparents, Clinton and Sadie McCladdie and George and Nellie Garnett.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving mother, Mary Garnett; a loving father, James (Mary Ann) McCladdie; a goddaughter, Aaliyah Morgan Pollard; two sisters, Ashley McCladdie and Jamie (Joel) Perez; four brothers, Dwayne McCladdie, Christian McCladdie, James McCladdie, Jr. and Cameron Clark; nine aunts, Emmie Dent, Martha Luke, Gracie McCladdie, Ola Garnett, Carrie Benning, Brentley (Dr. Lester) Pollard, Renee (Jackie) Dunn, Veronica Lampkin and Stacie McCladdie; three uncles, Johnny Garnett, Clinton (Tammy) McCladdie and Gordon (Cynthia) McCladdie; a very special nephew, Carter McCladdie; a godbrother, Adrian McCladdie; a close friend, Sherry Giles; a host of loving nieces, additional nephews, special cousins, other relatives and friends.
