Marcus M. Milner of Mohawk, TN. formerly of Dawson, GA, passed away on November 15, 2025, surrounded by family at the age of 95. His remains will be cremated and will be interred in the family plot at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson, GA. Marcus was born in Randolph County, GA to the late Fred and Jewell Parham Milner on February 25, 1930. He graduated from Terrell County High School in Dawson GA in 1947 and was one of the first students to continue their education and attend South Georgia Trade and Vocational School in Americus, GA where he studied Radio repair. He served in the Army from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War. After being discharged from the Army, he studied radio and television repair at South Georgia Trade School. Marcus then went to Port Arthur College in Texas to study Advanced Electronics and passed the Federal Communication exam for a 1st Class Radio Operator license. He then worked in radio and television repair in Dawson, GA until 1956 when he went to work at the Marine Corps repair depot in Albany, GA as an Electronic Mechanic.
Marcus is preceded in death by the love of his life, Alice Faye McGarity Milner. They were married on June 23, 1957, and had 68 years of Holy Matrimony. Marcus and Faye were members of Hillcrest Baptist Church in
Morristown, TN where they served the Lord as Sunday School teachers and many other duties until they were physically unable. Marcus was an ordained Deacon and lay speaker for the Lord. He and Faye also sang gospel songs together with Marcus playing his guitar.
In 1958, on their first wedding anniversary, they were heading to Hawaii where Marcus had a 2-year contract with the Navy at Pearl Harbor working on shipboard radar and communications equipment. When he returned from Hawaii in 1960, Marcus was employed by the Federal Aviation Agency as an Electronic Technician. He retired from the FAA in 1988 at the Tri City Airport where he was the field office manager. Marcus and Faye enjoyed 37 years of retirement together.
Marcus is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Greg) Adams of Mohawk, TN, Marcia (Al) Griffin of Randleman, NC and son, Marc Milner of Greeneville, SC and Kim Tran of Dickson, TN; four grandsons, four great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; Benjamin Adams and his son Declan Adams, Brian Adams and daughter Hayley Adams, Allen Griffin and fiancée Kayleigh; Samuel Griffin (Annette) and sons, Rowan, Wells, and Rhodes Marcus as well as a number of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
