Marcus Lee Wagner, 49, of Elkhart, passed away with his family at his side at 9:45 pm, on Saturday, September 27, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born on November 30, 1975, in Elkhart, to Marcus Lee, Sr. and Karon (Lowe) Wagner. Surviving are daughter, Brianna Wagner of Elkhart; son, Marcus Lee Wagner, III of Elkhart; two grandchildren, Ashleigh Wagner and Brantley Earp; the mother of his children, Liza Garrett; his parents; sister, Karina (Fiancé Marshall Feltz) Wagner of Elkhart; brother, Richard Wagner of Elkhart; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; Laney McFarland, Dylan Hopkins, and Joseph Earp, people whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Phyllis Wagner; niece, Ashley Wagner; and uncle, Tom Lowe. Marcus lived the "work hard, play hard" lifestyle. He was briefly in construction as a flagger, but was better known for his career in welding, often called by his nickname "Sparky Marky", where he worked on cargo trailers for various companies in Elkhart County. He was a true "motorhead" who enjoyed working on and driving racecars. He was a proud "PaPa" who loved spending time with his grandkids. He will always be remembered for being a crazy "character". Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday October 2, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday October 3, also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Bristol. Memorials may be given to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses. Online condolences may be offered at millerstewartfuneralhome.com.
