Marcus Lontra "Luh Marc" Whitehead, 18, of Bloomington, IL, departed his life on January 15, 2024 in Peoria, IL
Marcus was born July 25, 2005 in Peoria, IL to Lamonica Williams and James Whitehead, Jr.
Marcus was baptized at St. Paul Baptist Church where he had been a member of KAA (Kids Across America) and AWANA. He loved football and played JFL for many years. Marcus also was an avid Chicago Bears fan. His favorite shoes where NIKE and Jordans. He enjoyed holiday meals cooked by his Nana. His absolute favorite activity was every Saturday he and his Nana eating pancakes and drinking coffee at Bob Evans.
Marcus loved having his way; but Marcus's bright smile would light up a room when he entered and eventually everything was alright. He loved his family. Marcus always ended a phone call with family with the words Luv you.
Marcus Whitehead leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Lamonica Williams of Bloomington, Illinois; his father, James Whitehead Jr. of Peoria Illinois; three sisters, Jasmine Whitehead of Sandy Springs Georgia, Kamille Whitehead of Peoria Illinois and Sarai Cage of Peoria Illinois; three brothers, James Whitehead III of Bloomington, Illinois, Seth Cage of Peoria, Illinois and Aaron Cage of Peoria, Illinois; his loving and caring Grandmother, affectionately known as Nana, Wanda Thomas of Sandy Springs GA; two special Aunts, Britnay Washington of Peoria Illinois and Nicole Thomas of Chicago Illinois; also, two Special Uncles Charles Washington, II of Peoria Illinois and Tyrese Thomas of Peoria Illinois. He also had four special cousins who he adored Malachi, Shayla, TJ, and Mari; and a host of Great Aunts and Great uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Beverly Todd; maternal great-grand parents, Willie and Artis Hopson.
Marcus we love you and you will be missed!
Private services were held Saturday, January 20, 2024. Online condolences may be made at simonsmortuary.com.
