Mardell Marie Sexton

Mardell Marie Sexton, age 64, of Palestine, died Friday, December 26, 2025, at the St. Bernard's Hospice House in Jonesboro. She had been in poor health for the past several years.

Mrs. Sexton was born October 3, 1961, in Flint, Michigan, and was the daughter of Tommy Hancock and Therlene Jaynes Hancock. She lived in St. Francis County most of her life, was retired from Kroger Grocery in West Memphis, and attended the Oak Hill Church of God.

Mrs. Sexton is survived by one son, Marcus Lee Hancock, and wife, Holly, of Brookland, Arkansas, one daughter, Twana Hancock of Palestine, two brothers; Roland Hancock of California and Clifford Hancock of St. Louis, Missouri, three sisters; Alanna Scheffer of Cabot, Terrylnn Hirtz of Atoka, Tennessee, and Crystal Scherer of Magnolia, Texas, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She had one son, Michael Paul Hancock, who preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Oakl Hill Church of God. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. You may log on to stevensfuneralhome.net for the online registry.
