Marek Depa

1958 - 2022

Marek Depa of Berlin, passed away peacefully at Midstate Medical Hospital in Meriden, after 64 years of life on March 12, 2022.
Born in Poland to Czeslaw and Zofia (Szalwinska) Depa on Feb. 12, 1958, he immigrated to New Britain in 1966, as a young boy with his five sisters and a brother.
After graduating from New Britain High School in 1977, he went on to have a family with his former wife Teresa and they had three beautiful daughters.
His hard work and dedication as a screw machinist led to countless family vacations.
Whether it was a function or spending quality time with his siblings, in-laws, many nieces and nephews and friends, Marek was the life of the party.
A competitive game of setback, listening to oldies hits, dancing, Sunday breakfast with best friend George, fishing, gardening, being outdoors is what he savored most.
Marek lived life to the fullest every day. His presence and honest nature will be missed by all who loved him.
A loving father, grandfather and a brother, he is survived by his three daughters: Agnieszka Rusiecki and her husband Edward of Florida, Joanna Depa of Florida and Lisa Calafiore and her husband Paul of CT; his grandchildren: Dylan, Travis, Colin, Derek and Brandon; his five sisters: Halina Zielinski and her husband Antoni, Elzbieta Prokop and her husband Matt, Barbara Pirog and her husband Stanislaw, Natalia Domejczyk, and his twin sister Teresa Miceli and her husband Diego; his brother, Wladyslaw Depa and his wife Wieslawa and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his granddaughter Jazmine who he sorrowed and his brother-in-law Teddy Domejczyk.
Marek's funeral service will begin on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 8:45 a.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church.
He will be lovingly laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
