Margaret Jane Atkins Bibee at the age of 82, went home to Jesus peacefully with her loved ones close and her husband, Boyd, by her side on July 21, 2025, at their home in Sweetwater, TN. Survived by: Husband of 62 years, Boyd Bibee; Sons (daughters-in-law), Rick (Melanie), Ron (Cindi), and Rodney (Amy); Grandchildren, Jennifer Puett, Matthew, Trevor, Luke, Trent, Hannah Beth, and Bella Bibee; Extra Special Granddaughters include Haley Ratledge, Ann Marie Smith and Olivia Pralinsky; also, a plethora of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: Parents John and Maggie Atkins; Siblings Gladys Atkins, Gerlene Atkins Branch McGhee, R.C. Atkins, and Quentin Atkins; Granddaughter Bridgett Nichole Bibee. She was a member of Glenlock Baptist Church, where services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025. Receiving friends 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Funeral at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Dr. Jerry Vittatoe and Dr. Gerald Atkins officiating. Interment at Sweetwater Memorial Park following the funeral service. Believer, Wife, Momma, Mamaw, Friend, Confidant, Homemaker, Farmer, Hugger, Meatball Maker, School Cafeteria Staff just to name a few of her many titles. Born in 1943, in Madisonville, TN, Margaret was the baby of 5 children. There were 10 years between Margaret and her closet brother. According to her stories, this was evident as both her brothers were rough and tumble guys and loved to roughhouse with her. Her sisters treated her like their baby doll. In 1959, Margaret met Boyd. In 1963, they wed. If they had asked God for a long life together and He said I'll give you 62 years, they would have been more than happy with that. First, they moved to Taylor, Michigan, where they had Rick. After a few years they moved back to Madisonville, Tennessee, where they had Ron. In 1970, they moved to Sweetwater, to the house where they currently live, where they had Rodney. Margaret said she was finished moving because every time they did, she had another baby. Margaret worked for Sweetwater City Schools as a "Lunch Lady" at Brown Elementary School from 1976 (when her youngest started school) to 1994 (when her oldest grandson left her school). She may have even given a few extra pieces of rectangle pizza, chili, or no-bake cookies to her favorites. During retirement they traveled as much as possible and enjoyed the great outdoors, especially Alaska. We could go on and on telling stories about her infectious (in a good way) laugh, activities like chasing her boys and grandkids to ball practices and games, and accomplishments most can only dream of. But most importantly, Margaret would want you to love God, go and enjoy family, and make the most of every minute - until we "meet you over yonder."
