Mrs. Margaret Ann Richey Bandy (formerly Mrs. Margaret Ann Richey Sherrill), affectionately known by those who knew her as 'Marg,' age 76, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 26, 2025.
Marg was born on Sunday, October 17, 1948, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Mr. Jack Richey and Mrs. Mary Margaret Wilson Richey.
In addition to her parents, Marg is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Jack Bandy, her sister, Mary Jac Richey, and her grandson, Toby Wickman.
Marg is survived by her children, Matt (Nicole) Sherrill, Jessi (Greg) Sherrill Wickman, and Leightta (Isaiah) Sherrill; former husband and father of her children, Dr. Reggie (Kim, and daughter Emma Kate) Sherrill; and her late husband Jack's children, B.J. Bandy III, Tana Harlan, and Murray (Rosemary) Bandy, as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marg is also survived by Colton (Sophie) and Brody Sherrill, children of Matt and Nicole; Gauge and Jake, children of Jessi; special friends, David and Jolie Hastey and their family; and her best friend whom she loved as a sister, Jayne (Jim) Todd.
A Celebration of Marg's life will be conducted on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in the Sanctuary of Grove Level Baptist Church, with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating, as well as special remarks from family and friends.
Marg's family will receive friends for visitation at Love Funeral Home on Friday evening, August 1, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
In keeping with Marg's love of animals, especially her dogs George and Lucy, and her late dog Clifford, her family has asked that anyone who feels so inclined make donations in her honor and her memory to the Humane Society of Northwest Georgia (click the link below to donate).
Marg's family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Annalee Sams, granddaughter of Jack Bandy and Mayor of the City of Dalton, for all that she has done to help them throughout this most difficult time.
