          Margaret Billingsley, 80, of Independence, MO, peacefully went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2023, surrounded by family. 

          Margaret was born July 22, 1943, in Pitkin, Louisiana, one of six children of Oddman and Ollie Mae (Smith) Woods. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Bob E. L. Billingsley, in 1967, and they were blessed with four children.  Margaret and Bob lived in Texas before moving to the Kansas City area in 1986.  

          Along with her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Rev. Bob Billingsley, and three sisters. Survivors include her children, Joe Reid, Mechille Keller (Steve), Tena Kilgore (Dusty), and Tony Billingsley (April). She was Granny to her ten beloved grandchildren, Wendy, Sarah (Joshua), William, Heather (Christopher), Levi, Charlie, Garrett, Andrew, Zakk, and Anthony; seven great grandchildren and three bonus great grandchildren.  She also leaves a sister, Margie Holder (Carl deceased) and brother, Gary Williams, as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends, including church family.

          Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and Christian.  When she wasn’t with her family, she was often serving the Lord in her church, the House of Freedom.  

          A celebration of Margaret’s life will begin at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 22, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. As Margaret would have it, please dress casually, perhaps in blue, her favorite color.

          Memorials are suggested to House of Freedom, 300 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64053.
