Ruby Mae Shaver, 91, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025 in Liberty, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Everett M. Shaver.
Ruby was born December 10, 1933, in King City, MO to Leslie and Thelma (Bonham) McCullough.
Ruby worked as a secretary for Consumers Cooperative Association (later Farmland Industries) in 1953 where she met Everett, the love of her life. They were united in marriage on November 7, 1953, in King City, MO. Ruby worked as a secretary for Liberty Junior High School and later as the church secretary for Liberty Christian Church.
Along with her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her sister Iva Lea Durocher and her brother Donald McCullough.
She is survived by her sister Fran Quinn, her five children, Martin Shaver (Marty), Becky Ehlers (Terry), Brenda Shaver, Brian Shaver (Patsy) and Jeff Shaver (Chris); twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
Ruby was an active member of Liberty Christian Church, where she served as an Elder for many years. She loved camping, traveling to national parks, Branson and Silver Dollar City, bluegrass music festivals, volunteer work through the Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Center and through other community and church organizations. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 10:00am, Friday, October 17, 2025, with the Celebration of Life service at 11:00am at Liberty Christian Church, 427 East Kansas Street, Liberty, MO 64068. Internment will be at Glenridge Cemetery, followed by a luncheon in the church fellowship hall.
Memorial donations to Liberty Christian Church Local Missions in care of the above address would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
