Margaret A. " Margie" Brewer ObituaryMargaret A. Brewer, 91
EAST LIVERPOOL – Margaret A. Brewer, of East Liverpool, passed away Thursday morning, October 23, 2025, while surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was 91 years old.
Born in East Liverpool, September 23, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Harold S. and Sarah H. "Sadie" Stott Yost. A lifetime area resident, she was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1952 and attended the Beechwood Free Methodist Church. For 42 years, she worked as a school bus driver for the East Liverpool City School District until retiring at the age of 75. Her career was more than just a job to Margie, it was an adventure. She would go out of her way to make sure "her" kids on the bus were safe and well taken care of. It was not unusual to see her make sure they made it home safe or go the extra mile around the block if it was raining or cold. Above all things in life, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She passed along her life experiences to the next generation of things like cooking, baking and stories of her time as a newlywed in Europe, when she spent time in Germany, Bavaria, Switzerland and Sweden while her husband was in the military.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Brewer, on May 12, 2001. The couple married November 13, 1954. She was also preceded by her loving granddaughter, Amanda DeSarro, who shared a special relationship with her, and a grandson, Adam Smith.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Janie Smith and her husband, Bobby, of East Liverpool, Beverly DeSarro of East Liverpool, Kim Clark and her husband, Michael, of Arkansas, and William H. Brewer and his wife, Barbara, of East Liverpool. There are ten grandchildren: Jeremy Brewer (Alicia), Brandi Starr (Adam), Cody Parsons, Sidney Parsons, Chance DeSarro (Courtney), Hali Bock (Tyler), Michael Clark II (Ally), Jayce Clark (Faith), Katie Smith (Michael) and Bobby Smith II, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Rev. Norman Eckert of the Beechwood Free Methodist Church will conduct a funeral service Monday at 5:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit three hours prior to the service from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Private burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Following Monday's service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
Memorial tributes may be made to benefit the Amanda Marie DeSarro Memorial Scholarship Fund. Contributions may be made to the East Liverpool City School Scholarship and Education Fund, P.O. Box 2646,
East Liverpool, Ohio, making the memo to benefit Amanda's Scholarship.
To to the family or in memory of Margaret, please .
