Margaret Calhoun Obituary

MARGARET LOU CALHOUN
July 3, 1935 ˜ March 13, 2024

Margaret Lou Calhoun passed away peacefully at the age of 88. She was born in Kansas City, MO, on July 3, 1935, to Dorothy and Elmer Cusic. The family moved to the Vancouver area when Margaret was a child. She attended Vancouver schools and graduated from Vancouver High School in 1953. Margaret loved working with the students at the Washington School for the Blind and the School for the Deaf, where she retired in 2000.

Margaret’s friends and family meant the world to her. She enjoyed playing board games, cards, and being in the company of those she loved. She enjoyed trips to the coast and would not pass up a car ride on a nice spring day.

Margaret is survived by her sisters, Virginia, Charlotte (Tom), and Mary (Michael); children, Karen (Bob), Joe Jr. (Shannon), Michael (Carol); seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She went home to the Lord, her parents and youngest son, Jeffrey.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Margaret on March 23, 2024, at the Vancouver Elks Lodge, 11605 SE McGillivray Blvd., Vancouver, WA, from 1 to 3 p.m.
