Margaret D. Cecot

Massena: Margaret D. "Bunnie" Cecot, age 86, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Massena Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena, NY. There will be no public calling hours or funeral services at this time. Burial will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery located in Norfolk, NY, at the convenience of the family.
Margaret was born on May 23, 1937, in Ireland, West Virginia the daughter of the late Russel and Rachel (Williston) Ware. A marriage to Milton Pitts ended in divorce. She later married Andrew "Midge" Cecot, on July 7, 1972, in Massena at The Church of the Sacred Heart, Midge later predeceased Bunnie in 2007. Bunnie worked as a nurse for the majority of her career, later driving bus for Massena Central School District and later retired as a home health aide.
She was an avid reader, but most importantly enjoyed the time spent with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bunnie is survived by her children, Steven M. Cecot of White Castle, VA; M. John and Cassie Cecot; Donna and Carter Henry; both of Massena, Karen and Scott Hyneman of Evans Mills, NY, and Andrea Cecot of Clearwater, FL, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Geraldine and Joe Wilson of Bedford, IN, and Terri Flynn of Massena and Brenda and David Besio of Victoria Texas, along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bunnie was predeceased by a son Randy Cecot, a daughter Jackie Mitchell, a brother, Charles Ware and sisters Judy Murray and Audrey Jean Stokes.
