Deborah Raleigh Cecot

CLARENDON Deborah Raleigh Cecot, 74 died November 28th. She was born May 4, 1949 in Burlington, VT to James L. and Dorothy (Dahlgren) Raleigh. She grew up at 62 Lafayette Street in Rutland. Debbie Graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in 1967, Jeanne Mance School of Nursing in 1971 and Castleton State College in 1978. On June 12, 1971 she married Frank S. Cecot of West Rutland, they lived in Rutland for 15 years and moved to Clarendon in 1986.
Debbie worked in Labor and Delivery at Rutland Hospital for 2 years and for Donald M. Wolins, MD for 15 years. She worked as a school nurse at Clarendon Elementary School for 27 years. After retiring from CES she worked in the Student Wellness Center at Castleton University for 2 years. Debbie taught prenatal and cesarean birth classes through the VNA. She was on the Vermont State School Nurse Advisory. She was especially proud of being a member of the committee that established the Bailey Memorial Library in Clarendon. She was also a Master Gardener through the UVM Extension Service.
She is survived by her daughters Jessica and Emily, her son Joshua and his wife Jenna, three grandchildren - Hannah, Bennett and Ella Betty. She is also survived by her Brother Kevin and his wife Lorie of Wilder, VT and her sister Nancy of Las Vegas. Also nephews, James E., Kellen, Jarrod, Derrick, James M. and niece Darron.
Debbie was predeceased by her parents, her brother Chris, nephew Travis and her sweetheart, Frank.
At her request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. There will be a private burial at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to West Rutland School.
