Margaret "Peg" Dearie, age 87, of Cape May Court House, NJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, December 8, 2023. She was born June 12, 1936 in Philadelphia to the late Thomas E. & Margaret (Coyle) Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, Peg was predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Tommy, Johnny, Mary, Dot, and Theresa.
Survived by her beloved husband, John of 68 years and her daughter, Kathy Bakey (Ed) and Colby (family dog) who was Peg's Couch Buddy; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Peg engaged in conversations with everyone from the very young to the very old and everyone in between. Her compassionate heart endeared her to family, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances. She enjoyed shing and gol ng with John. Some of her other favorite pastimes were getting together with family and friends, visiting the Jersey Shore beaches, traveling, playing the lottery, going to casinos and shopping. Throughout her life she sought the best in everyone and remained young at heart.

Family and friends are invited to Peg's visitation on Saturday January 6, 2024 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA 19022. Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 10:30 am. Interment will be private.
