Margaret "Peggy" Eby, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, in Kelso, Washington, at the age of 89.

Peggy was born on October 10, 1935, in Astoria, Oregon, to Ellen Enstrom and Daniel Steiner. She spent her early years in Kelso, where she attended Lexington Elementary, Huntington Middle School, and graduated from Kelso High School.

On July 25, 1953, she married the love of her life, Melvin "Buz" Eby. Together they built a life grounded in love, adventure, and shared interests.

In the 60's the family moved to Tumwater, WA where they settled. Peggy worked for many years in the fabric department at Payless House of Value, where her talent for sewing and eye for detail were well appreciated. She was a woman of many passions - sewing, motorcycling, and walking were just a few of her favorite pastimes. She and Buz were avid volksmarchers, completing walks in all 50 states and in Canada. Her deep interest in genealogy reflected her love for family, history, and connection.

A woman of faith, Peggy was a longtime member of the Methodist Church and lived a life of quiet strength, kindness, and dedication.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Sonja Winkelman and Sheryl Hermanson as well as 7 Grandchildren, 11 Great grandchildren, 3 Great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin "Buz" Eby; her son, Brad Eby; her parents, Ellen and Daniel Steiner; her brother, Glyn Steiner; and her sister, LaVelle Fanony.

Peggy will be remembered for her warm heart, adventurous spirit, and the legacy of love she leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at ALZ.org, in honor of Peggy's memory.
