Margaret C. Elsbeck of Floral Park, on October 20, 2025, at age 101. Beloved wife of the late Peter G. Elsbeck. Predeceased by siblings Anna Caputo, Joseph Scorcia, Rose Gaeta, Mary Battaglia and Catherine Kane. Survived by many nieces, nephews and loving friends..

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Marge lived in Floral Park for over 70 years. She retired from the Nassau County Police Department and was an avid volunteer, active in numerous organizations, including the Floral Park Women's Club and Westbury Gardens. Fiercely independent, she amazed neighbors and doctors alike with her strength and stamina. Even as she approached 100, she regularly walked over two miles a day.

Marge's late husband, Peter, was a decorated World War II veteran, who was shot down over Germany and survived a POW camp. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross (clickable link when you scroll down the page), whose care packages Marge credited with keeping Peter alive during his captivity.

Marge and Pete were unable to have children of her own, but they did something even more remarkable: they became surrogate parents to almost everyone who knew them. Marge was a cherished source of advice and encouragement, who preached a message of gratitude. Her favorite saying was "not every day will be good, but there is something good in every day".
