Luanne Geisert, age 93, formerly of Ogallala, NE, died Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Independence House in Lincoln, NE.
Margaret Luanne Geisert was born November 19, 1931, in Burnside, IL., the daughter of Leman and Wanda (Davis) Spencer. As a young child, Luanne moved with her parents to Ogallala, NE., where she attended public school and then graduated from Ogallala High School in 1950.
That same year, Luanne married Harry Geisert and moved 10 miles southeast of Ogallala where they farmed for 36 years. In 1986, the Geiserts moved off the farm and in to Ogallala. Luanne was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and actively participated in the Ladies' Aid. She enjoyed volunteering with RSVP, Meals on Wheels, and Bloodmobile, as well as attending the Christian Women's club. Luanne also had a passion for sewing and crafts.
Visitation will be Friday, April 11, 2025, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Ogallala, NE.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Albert Bader officiating.
Interment will be in the Ogallala Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
Preceding Luanne in death are her parents and her husband, Harry L. Geisert who passed in 2012.
Survivors include three sons, Greg (Marcia) Geisert of Newport News, VA, Mark (Lori) Geisert of Fort Worth, TX, and Jeff (Jennifer) Geisert of Lincoln, NE; one brother, Warren (Fern) Spencer of Waverly, NE.; seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established in Luanne's name to St. John's Lutheran Church.
