Margaret Goley

Margaret Goley, age 94, formerly of Burlington, KY, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Colonial Heights Senior Living. Margaret was born in Jersey City, NJ, on May 25, 1931, to the late Patrick and Margaret Moran. She is survived by her beloved sons, E.M. "Skip" (Teresa) Goley, of Leland, NC, and John (Lynda) Goley, of Lebanon, TN. Dear sister of James Moran. Margaret was the proud grandmother of Christopher Cantrell, of Nashville, TN, and Lauren (Hans) Castleberg, of Murfreesboro, TN, and great-grandmother of Payton Castleberg. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Margaret is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Elmer S. Goley; brothers, Patrick and Michael Moran; and sisters, Mary Shahpazian and Winifred O'Loughlin. She was a long-time member of Burlington Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing and teaching. Margaret taught for over 30 years at Lloyd, 1st District, John G. Carlisle, and spent 24 years teaching fourth grade at Florence Elementary. Many of her former students remember her leprechauns, Patrick and Michael, who came to school on St. Patrick's Day. She was a lifetime member of the P.T.A. and enjoyed spending her time with her family and dear friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
