Margaret K. Grafton ObituaryMargaret K. Grafton, age 98 years, of Street (Dublin), MD died at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air at 6:35 am on Monday, May 5, 2025. She was the wife of Corbin C. Grafton who died on March 12, 1988.
Born in Whiteford, MD on April 8, 1927, Margaret was a daughter of the late Philip C. and Mildred (Harmon) Kennedy. Graduating in 1944 from the former Slate Ridge High School in Cardiff, MD, she served as the historian of her graduating class. For over three years in the early 50s, Margaret worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground doing silkscreen, printing and stenciling. Over the years, Margaret also worked at sewing factories in both Delta and Fawn Grove, PA.
Her hobbies included crochet, crafts, needlepoint and making stained glass. Margaret's other interests were movies and reading, especially books about Amish history and traditions.
Margaret was a member of the former Cambria United Methodist Church in Whiteford, MD and upon its closing in the 1990s she became a member of the Deer Creek United Methodist Church in Forest Hill, MD.
She is survived by,
Her three daughters,
Judy Jones, and her husband, Brian of Forest Hill, MD
Debbie Stewart, and her husband, David of Whiteford, MD
Marie Hilker, and her husband, Charles of Street, MD
Thirteen grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren
Her brother, Oliver Kennedy of Delta, PA
Her sister, Olivia Walkup of Pasadena, MD
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Farley, Donald Kennedy, Carmen Kennedy and Walter Kennedy.
The viewing and funeral services will be held on Monday, May 12 with the viewing held from 10-11 am and the funeral service beginning at 11 am at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta, PA.
Reverend Deb Lampton, Family Pastor at the Bel Air United Methodist Church will officiate.
Interment will follow in Deer Creek Cemetery, Forest Hill, MD
