Margaret L. (Harrison) Gray, 92, passed away August 6th, 2024. She was born September 9th, 1931, in Glasglow, Barren County, Kentucky to parents Clovis Harrison and Dorothy (Robertson) Harrison.
On December 24th, 1948, she married the love of her life, Charles W. Gray. They shared 58 wonderful years together. Charles passed away June 21st, 2007.
Margaret began her career in accounting for the State of Indiana. She served as a supervisor at Marion County Voter’s Registration, and later, as an auditor for probate courts until she retired.
She was a valued member of Old Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Margaret was a beloved Girl Scout Leader in Warren Township for several years.
Left to mourn her loss are her children, Charles D. (Darlene Z. Zwissler) Gray of Salvisa, Kentucky, Larry A. (Lisa) Gray of Atlanta, GA, Cynthia L. Gray of Scottsdale, AZ, and Lisa K. (The Late Dr. Stephen M. Spaethe) Gray of Greenfield, IN; grandchildren, John M. Gray, Elizabeth N. Schloss, Christina A. James, Megan S. Kaye, Ashley M. Rooney, Amanda M. Johnson, Sarah L. Dipple, Tyler S. Spaethe, Emilee C. Geyman, Andrew W. Spaethe, B. Hayden Myers, W. Hunter Gray; 23 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Betty J. Cloyd.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents; siblings Ruby Harrison, Edgar Harrison, Shirley Ann Harrison, and James Harrison.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 5PM-7PM at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229. Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 10AM-11AM, with a funeral service beginning at 11AM. Margaret will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery after the funeral.
