Justina Maria Goodall, was born April 22, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Beatrice Hodges and James Goodall. She attended Arsenal Tech High School and later went on to earn a certificate in pursuit of her long-time dream of becoming a nurse. She also worked for a short time at Diamond Chain until she became ill.
Justina found love at a young age. She and her life partner Robert J. Nelson, Jr. went on to have a loving family whom they raised together.
Justina was big on family and loved her children and grandchildren to no end. Spending time with them was her greatest joy in life.
Justina had a bigger than life personality and was the life of the party. Her sense of humor and laughter was infectious. She spoke her mind good or bad all while making you laugh.
She had a love of reading novels, crossword puzzles, watching her tv shows, cooking, dancing, and she loved a good cold beer.
She was grateful for the wonderful life, caring family, and faithful friends that the Lord blessed her with. She was celebrated by all and will be truly missed by those who knew her and loved her.
Justina Maria Goodall departed this precious life on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the age of 67 years. She endured a lifelong battle with cancer, however, her strength never wavered up until the Lord called her home. Her daughter, Shawntae Goodall; son, James E. Goodall; father, James Goodall; father, James Ramsey Jr.; mother, Beatrice Hodges; brother, James “Butch” Goodall; and sister, Mila Bellamy preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted life partner Robert J. Nelson Jr.; daughters, Nicole, Banika, Latosha, and Brittany; sons, Robert, Samuel, and Devin; grandchildren, Lindsey, Trebor, Samuel, Justin, Rayiana, Jamie, Samirah, Skylar, Kano, Dominic, and Joyner; siblings, Rasheda, Philamena, Marsha, William, Timothy, Canandra, and Khristyion; a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and devoted friends and so many others touched by her love and kindness.
A visitation will be held in Justina's honor at 11-12pm Saturday the 18th of October with a funeral service to follow at 12pm, all taking place at The Community Life Center at Washington Park East 10612 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229.
