Lavenia & Summers Home for Funerals - IndianapolisPenny Ann Lewis was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana on June 18, 1958, to Faye Willard and Mary Ann Lewis. Penny, age 67, died at home in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 9, 2025. Penny is survived by her daughter, granddaughter, and great granddaughter: Chassity, Karsyn, and Kataleya Mahaska; her grandsons: Lucas, Evan, Isaac, and Silas Lewis; her brother, Dean Lewis; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by both parents, her son, Justin Lewis; and her brother, Floyd Lewis. Penny graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1976 and retired from Langham Logistics in 2024 after more than 25 years of service.
Penny was a strong and stubborn woman with an unwavering work ethic. She was also kind, generous, loving, and willing to move mountains to help loved ones. She found retirement exceptionally boring, but kept herself busy spoiling her “Rotten Egg Baby,” her beloved great-granddaughter Kataleya, being absolutely (and loudly) indignant at any and every life challenge thrown at her precious granddaughter Karsyn, suggesting new and beautiful travel locations she’d seen on various documentaries to her daughter Chassity, and staying connected with her grandsons Lucas, Evan, Isaac, and Silas, all of whom meant the world to her. Penny regularly sacrificed her own wants and needs to make sure that those around her were taken care of. She was like the sun, a shining star in the center of everyone’s orbit. Her warmth will be missed forever.
