Margaret Iwanski Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Justen Funeral Home & Crematory - McHenry on Nov. 4, 2025.
Margaret Andrea Iwanski (née Wiatr), 88, of North Port, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 28, 2025.
Born on September 2, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, to Andrew and Victoria (née Kisolek) Wiatr, Margaret-known lovingly as Marge-lived a long and fulfilling life built on faith, kindness, and devotion to her family.
Marge married her one true love, James Stanley Iwanski, with whom she shared many wonderful years. Their love was an inspiration to all who knew them. James passed away on January 2, 2006, but Marge always held his memory close to her heart.
Marge found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved tending to her garden, singing or humming her favorite songs, and spending time with family and friends. Many joyful days were spent boating on and around the Fox River in Northern Illinois and in Florida, and she and her husband traveled extensively across the country in their motor home. She also had a fondness for watching birds, so much so that it became known that bird feed was often given to her as a thoughtful gift by family. In her early years family were eager to get her famous cheesecake, and the sweetness of her chocolate-covered peanut butter balls. Those who knew her will remember her strength, kindness, and unwavering love for others.
She was a devoted mother of six, grandmother of sixteen, and great-grandmother of eleven. Marge is lovingly remembered by her children James (the late Shirley), Andrew (the late Annette), Victoria Blumm, William (Jennifer), Michael (Lisa), and daughter-in-law Denise. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Victoria, her husband James, sister Christina Murdock, son Timothy, and grandson Cory.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Jeremy (Christina), Brittany, Michael (Kristi), Joshua (Amari), Jessica, Kelsey, Matthew (Lauren), Kathryn, Nathan (Tori), Laura, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Casey, Nicholas, and Jason; and her great-grandchildren Mackenzi, Maddison, Mayle, Masa, Aspen, Alaric, Jax, Kane, Levi, Ivy, and Walter.
Marge will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
