Margaret Loufek Jackson, 87, of Libertyville IL, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025.
Margaret was born June 1, 1938 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The daughter of Henry James and Marguerite Listeberger Loufek. She was very proud of her Iowa upbringing. She was active in many sports growing up including softball, basketball and volleyball. After high school, she had a brief try at Iowa State teachers college before moving to Chicago for training at Mercy Hospital.
Margaret became an x-ray technician and spent her career at St. Luke's Hospital. During this time, she met the love of her life, and future husband Joseph Jackson, whom she married in 1964. Together they found a love for fishing, bowling and golf.
To say Margaret enjoyed life is an understatement. She played golf regularly at Bonnie Brook Golf Course in Waukegan IL, where she developed many friendships and truly excelled on the 19th hole!! She and several of her friends were also active on the pool table at The Duck Inn in Wadsworth, IL. Regulars would refer to the ladies as "Margaret and the Ducklings." Wherever she went, she made people laugh.
Margaret leaves behind sister-in-law Sally Loufek, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents and her three siblings: Sister Patricia Guerin and husband John, brother Richard "Dick" Loufek, sister Sandra Fuelling and her husband Burnell, Sisters-in-law Beverly Robichard and husband Dan, and Joyce Erdal and husband Marvin "Mick."
The family would like to send huge thank you's to the staff at StoryPoint Senior Living, Suncrest Hospice and The Beginning Home Care Services.
Per her wishes, memorial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
